"Paradise"

29 April 2011 last updated at 23: 46 GMT US space tourist Dennis Tito celebrates after his landing near the town of Arkalyk in Kazakhstan on 6 May 2001 Dennis Tito jubilant return to Earth: "I was just back from paradise!" Ten years ago, us multi-millionaire Dennis Tito became the world's first space tourist.

He should have paid for his eight days $20 m in the area.

Mr Tito blasted on 28 April 2001, but only after a struggle for somebody to him - are on the increase of the US space agency NASA refused on the ground, he trained astronaut, was not so that it was the Russians, which facilitates the travel.

To date, only six people in his footsteps - payment for a ticket in the area have followed orbit.

But 10 years on, the temptation to make space tourism more accessible to the masses is just as strong.

Virgin Galactic hopes, in about two years take fare paying passengers into space, and the Russian company has even announced plans for a hotel in the area.

On the tenth anniversary of the flight holiday Dennis Tito into space for BBC World Service is reflected in his eight-day.

There was absolutely no fear. I was so excited and so were my crew mates.

We were in the room, and we thought of nothing else but the success of this mission are.

There was absolutely no fears - so it was just a really good, euphoric feeling that the day had finally come.

There was no Shuttle, it was a space capsule; We were literally elbow to sheets.

The countdown began, and it went to the second schedule.

It was a little surprised, as lift-off occurred - I thought it would be much more rigorous; She couldn't believe it, and it could not hear you.

When I experienced a start from the outside, a huge sound was even a mile away.

But none of this belongs in the spacecraft.

'How fly'

As we lifted and the fuel burn began, the vehicle accelerates it held on speeding up and then felt only a gradual build up to G-forces.

Eight minutes and 50 seconds later, the last of the three gs and then NULL-gs connect, if the machine shuts down - this is the most spectacular moment of the flight.

At burn-out, you are weightless; There are pencils, which consists of strings in the cabin are suspended, and begin orbit insertion, the pencils only to swim.

And then looking for my right out the window, I could see, I could see the blackness of space, Earth and the curvature of the Earth and the sight of the Earth from outer space was just spectacular.

I can not always that duplicate euphoric feeling that I had at that moment.

For me it was a 40-year target. Slowly, occurs often reach a major goal in life, but this was instant - it was only at this exact moment.

It was once we have of the suit, which we could float around and to experience weightlessness.

It is really extraordinary, because it is nowhere on Earth, that us or one of our ancestors in the entire history of the Evolution-who experience.

It was a wonderful experience; the feeling of floating is just incredible. Move is not difficult, and you learn very quickly.

When we were on the international space station we had more space - you would selling off an area, very gently, and you would fly in another area.

It was like flying, and that was a lot of fun!

It took two days surrounded the Earth, 16 trains a day, before we caught with the station.

There were three crew members, who were received us for about two months as part of the long-term crew, so they see not many people, and them with open arms.

I think we have a much better view of the Earth from the international space station.

The port-hole we would actually look at the Earth was through the floor, so I was always on the lookout on the Earth.

Then we had some port holes which saw on the page, and we could see the edges of the earth - so we had two different types of views.

We would go from one to another, and I would spend most of the 45 minutes - what is half of a train - and videotaping the view, or listen only to sit for 45 minutes, from peering, Opera and just enjoying the experience.

The images are vivid in my mind. I continue to enjoy it every day!

It went very quickly and probably the largest disappointments thing for me to a total of eight days in space was, I had to go back to Earth.

I would still like to there for months!

For me, there was very little transition from space to Earth.

48 Hours, I was really back to my running - I ran a few miles.

With NASA, there was a strong feeling that my flight should take place not. And I think it is somewhat understandable, it was the first really private space.

And I think that it about me as a private citizen concerns, the number one, were; and number two, my can have qualified me age.

You probably had some reason to be affected.

Future space

I hope that tens of thousands of people to experience what I experienced for 5% of the costs.

I think it is a time, it will take 10 or 20 years, where the cost of flying in orbit could be as low as $1 million in today's money.

A lot of money, is certainly a million dollars but there are many millionaires in the world today, and I know people who would spend their last dime on this experience.

I often thought when I spend my last penny I could life on social security for the rest of my life and be more happy, because I had achieved what I wanted to achieve.

It was a feeling of completeness - from then on, everything is a bonus. And everything since then only additional was the last 10 years.

And I think I'm one of the luckiest people alive because of.
